We often participate in various scouting activities organized by the Bangladesh Scouts. These activities aim to develop students’ physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual skills through a value-based training system.

It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. Research says that spelling, reading, writing and comprehension skills are all clo sely linked. A research study conducted by L.C. Ehri for “The Scientific Study of Reading found that spelling instructions improve reading ability. ABC Public School teachers execute Spelling Competition. In spelling competition, contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words usually with a varying degree of difficulty. ’ABC Public School Spelling Competition’ involves some vocabulary questions in the earlier round, but the main focus is on the oral spelling. Competitors learn strategies like using root words, word origins. Students usually practise repetitively to win. Essentially, the students memorise hundreds if not thousands of words.

In ABC Public School we often arrange science Fair for students. A science fair is an opportunity for students to do an independent science project following either the scientific method or the engineering design process. Students conduct their research then present their results at a science fair.

“ Food is our common ground, a universal experience”……… James Beard saying…. Aha… yes,’ A great truth!’
Cooking art or Culinary art is a programme designed as an introduction to the culinary environment. ABC Public School uses a well- equipped kitchen-like classroom and equipped bistro as a learning laboratory. Cooking with children in school promotes life-time skills of healthy cooking starting at a young age. ESS believes youth who lack healthy cooking knowledge may rely on packaged foods containing questionable value! Children tend to skip less healthy processed snacks if they know how to prepare their own food. While kneading, tossing, pouring, smelling, cutting, filling foods students have fun and learn!
In ABC Public School cooking room, teachers usually help students focusing on the following : (i)Basic cooking method (ii) Safety and sanitation(iii) Menu creating and costing
(iv) Basic food preparation like sandwiches, milkshake, pan cake, burgers, fruit salad, pasta, custard etc.

Wow! It’s relaxing time after much done with some tough classes!……because it’s fun music time! Musical training helps develop language and reasoning. ESS firmly believes that students who have early musical training will develop the areas of brain related to language and reasoning. Not only will music education allows children to develop their musical skills, it will also give them the opportunity to work on their math skills, reading and writing skills, science skill and history knowledge.

ABC Public School takes pride in being the pioneer in Bangladesh to introduce the Cambridge Early Years Programme at the Pre-primary level for children between the ages of 2.5 years to 6.5. By seamlessly integrating this curriculum with a rich array of Montessori activities, our students experience optimal intellectual and developmental growth. The Cambridge Early Years is in line with international best practice and research, and in collaboration with pioneers of early education worldwide.
The programme builds on these key principles:
1. Experience
Learning should complement the social and cultural factors (like experiences of home and community) that shape a child’s learning and development.
2. Active
Children should be involved in their own learning through well-planned experiences that help them develop competence, agency, emotional attachment and self-worth.
3. Balance
Learning should encourage an appropriate balance of physical, cognitive, language and communications, and social and emotional development.
4. Play
Learning should be age appropriate, play-based and child centred. It should include both child- and adult-led activities.
5. Transition
Early years education should help children transition successfully to primary school, moving from informal, play-based learning to teaching that is more formal.
Primary Program (Grades 1 to 4)
ABC Public School, the curriculum is rooted in the Cambridge Primary programme, providing a comprehensive educational experience from Grades 1 to 4 for children from 6.5 – 10.5 years of age. With a strong emphasis on English, Mathematics, Science, and Global Perspectives, students develop essential skills and knowledge while preparing for Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations at the end of Grade 5. Additionally, parallel subjects such as Bangla and Bangladesh Studies, Computer Studies, and additional languages like Hindi and French contribute to a well-rounded education. Co-curricular activities including Physical Education, Music, Art, Chess, and Dance further enrich the students’ learning experience, fostering their holistic development.
Secondary Curriculum (Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8)
In Grades 5 to 8 at ABC Public School, we follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary program, catering to students aged 10.5 to 13.5. Like the Primary programme, it emphasizes clear learning objectives, fostering knowledge acquisition and skill development across various subjects. Regular assessments monitor progress, with specialized teachers providing support in a well-resourced environment. Students undergo Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations in English, Mathematics, and Science in Grade 8. Alongside core subjects, we offer Bangla and Bangladesh studies, Computer studies, and additional language options like Hindi and French. Physical Education, Music, Art, Chess, and Dance are integral components of our curriculum, ensuring a holistic education for students.
